i have hp 15 bs 180 tx laptop . recently i have purchased a gaming monitor of 144hz . i connected it with hdmi cable .  it works smoothly in desktop or in other task like web surfing or any other normal work . but while i  play games on fullscreen mode its refresh rate get capped at 30 hz  on every resolution wheter it is 720 p or 1080 .but when i play games on borderless fullscreen mode or windowed mode it didnt cap the refresh rate of monitor .  so plz help me to get rid of this . i had searched in everywhere but it didnt work . plz reply asap

Your machine has HDMI version 1.4b supporting 1920 ×1080 @ 60Hz.

 

Did you know when refresh rate goes up, resolution will go down and vice versa. Therefore no way you can get FHD 144Hz using current setup.

 

You need a machine with HDMI 2.0 or similar and you may get FHD @ 120Hz.
