Pavilion TS 15 Notebook PC / Compaq LA2306x monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need to add another monitor as a second display. My laptop is a Pavilion TS 15 Notebook PC and the monitor is an HP Compaq LA2306x. The monitor has DisplayPort, DVI-D & VGA connections. My laptop has HDMI & USB connections. I found a converter that plugs into the monitor's DisplayPort and has a female HDMI on the other end, then I connected an HDMI from that to my laptop. When I turn on the monitor, it scans all 3 and comes up: No Signal. The default source is DisplayPort. What am I doing wrong?

Please use HDMI (from machine) to DVI (to monitor) cable, this should work. One example
