I use a HP Envy Notebook 13-ab0XX with an external monitor via the HDMI port, in extended mode.
I believe that I may add a 3rd monitor via the USB-C (with an adapter from USB-C to HDMI), but the adapter will have to be compliant with Display port Alt mode. Is this correct in this case?
If not kindly advise alternatives, as I also understand that the Intel HD Graphics 620 boar does support a 3rd monitor (please correct me if I am wrong)?!
Many thanks in advance.

That is true. Before we can help, we need to know what EXACTLY is your HP Envy Notebook 13-ab0XX ? Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
or
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108
Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).
Regards.

Hi Again,
When using a Display Port Alt Mode compatible adapter (tried two different alternatives, the last one is the HP USB-C to Multi-Port Hub - HP Product 18G94AA#ABB), I always get a message from the system indicating that the "Display connection might be limited", and get directed to the following Microsoft support page:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4012609/windows-10-fix-usb-c-problems
Even Intel confirms that this machine's processor - Core i7 7th Generation- and the Graphics Board - Intel® HD Graphics 620 - both support 3 monitors.
Might this be a drivers/missing update issue?
Thanks in advance for your support on this topic.

Thanks for your support. But I am still struggling to find a solution...
Is there any chance my USB-C port is Data Transfer Only ? No such spec in the unit's datasheet:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05813626?jumpid=reg_r1002_auen_c-001_title_r0001
Could the following dock (USB-A and USB-C) be suitable for me (HP EnvyNotebook not listed un the compatible models list)?
Thanks in advance, have a great day.
