HP Spectre x360 Laptop - 15-eb0043dx
Microsoft Windows 11

The keyboard and touchpad work in BIOS/UEFI and during UEFI diagnostics, confirming the hardware is functional. Someone previously fixed the issue by disabling a specific component in Windows, which allowed the keyboard and touchpad to work again. The issue is software-related and likely caused by driver conflicts, Windows settings, or incompatible software after the Windows 11 update.

what i have tried :

  • Updated/Reinstalled Drivers – Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers in Device Manager.
  • Disabled Filter Keys – Turned off the Filter Keys feature in accessibility settings.
  • Checked BIOS/UEFI – Verified touchpad and keyboard are enabled.
  • Safe Mode – Tested in Safe Mode, but the issue persists.
  • Checked for Software Conflicts – Looked for software that could interfere with the devices.
  • Ran System Scans – Used SFC and DISM commands to repair system files.
  • Tested External Devices – External keyboard and mouse worked fine.
  • HP Diagnostic Tools – Ran diagnostics with no issues found.
  • System Restore – Tried restoring to a previous point, but it didn’t fix the issue.

None of these fixed the issue.

Hi @k66,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

My sincere apologies to hear about the issues you're facing with your PC.

I appreciate

Please follow the steps to troubleshoot the keyboard and TouchPad issues:

1. Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that your keyboard and TouchPad drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager.
  • Go to Device Manager, find the keyboard and TouchPad entries, right-click, and select "Update driver."

2. Rollback Drivers:

  • If updating doesn't solve the issue, try rolling back the drivers to a previous version.
  • Again, in Device Manager, right-click on the keyboard and TouchPad entries, and choose "Properties." Go to the "Driver" tab and select "Roll Back Driver" if available.

3. BIOS Update:

  • Check if there is a BIOS update available for your laptop on the HP support website. Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve hardware-related issues.

4. System Restore:

  • If the problems started after a recent update or installation, consider performing a system restore to a point before the issues began.

5. Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your Windows 11 operating system is up to date. Sometimes, system updates can include fixes for hardware issues.

6. External Keyboard and Mouse:

  • If possible, try connecting an external USB keyboard and mouse to see if they work. This can help determine if the issue is with the internal hardware or if it's a broader system problem.

7. HP Support Assistant:

  • Use the HP Support Assistant application (if pre-installed) to check for and install any available updates or fixes.

8. HP Diagnostic Tools:

  • Download and run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool from the HP website. This tool can help identify hardware issues.

The same issue here. Non of solutions works except reinstalling Windows to older version...and keyboard + touchpad works again. It's some Win 11 update...I dont know which exactly which caused this issue. But nothing worked, BIOS update, drivers update via HP page and so on. So the solution (for now) is older Win11 ver, or Win10
