Hi,

I'm using my HP All in one pavilion pc as a 2nd monitor to my HP Envy x360 laptop, through a HDMI cable (as I couldn't get it to work the other way; laptop 2nd monitor to all in one!). My all in one keeps switching off intermittently even though I 'turned off' the off function in the settings. So I have to keep refreshing the connection in 'Display' settings. How can I use my all in one as just a monitor, without it 'waking up'? To be honest, I really would have preferred that it was my main pc but....Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi@Lynkar,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Laptop monitor keeps switching off while being 2nd screen.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • You can try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.

Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.

  1. Control Panel Icon.
  2. “System and Security” option.
  3. “Power Options” button.
  4. “Choose what to do” option.
  5. “Change settings that are unavailable” option.
  6. Enable or Disable Fast Startup using Control Panel.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
