This morning my daughter came to me and showed me that the aspect ratio on her Chromebook display changed from 16:9 to 4:3. I tried several possible solutions:
1) I attempted to change the resolution on the internal display (which is set at 1024x768). All that did was change the resolution within the 4:3 display continuing to leave the left third of the screen black.
2) Attempted a hard reset. No change.
3) Attempted a powerwash. No change.
4) Connected the Chromebook to my HDTV via HDMI cable to see if the aspect ratio was also affected there. It was fine on the TV but the laptop display remained at 4:3
5) Thought about throwing it against the wall but figured that would only make me feel better.
6) Contacted Google support but so far no help.
So now I come to you, Oh wise and powerful HP wizards of Oz. Please help. This is not for me. It's for my daughter............

Windows has changed my native aspect ratio and and I cannot get it back. The Display Setting do not give me my old options, only 4:3. Obviously this ruins the experience as all of my photos now have streched faces.
In other words SETTINGS, SYSTEM, DISPLAY SETTINGS, RESOLUTIONS will NO LONGER give me an option to go
back to my old 16:9 only a choice of three 4:3 options.
I have a dv7 Pavilion Entertainment laptop. I have updated the ATI display drivers and the HP site tells me that they
are the latest ones.
I am sure some of you have had the same problem - HOW DO I SOLVE IT AND GET MY NATIVE ASPECT RATIO BACK?
Thank you for any help you can give me.

I shut down my HP Pavilion p6380t on Wednesday, Nov. 22 and all was operating fine. I restarted it today, Nov. 26 and the display aspect ratio is stuck in 4:3. My HP 2009m monitor is 16:9. The display settings only show resolutions for a 4:3 monitor. How do I get back to the correct aspect ratio?
