I purchased a new HP Envy Laptop 17-cw1xxx and I am trying to attach my FOPO S17 Portable Monitor. I am able to connect one of the monitors with the HDMI to mini HDMI, but the USB-C port is not connecting display wise to the other monitor. FOPO says that you can use type C to connect display, so not sure why it isn't working. Please help.

@kyle1333, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your new HP laptop not being able to connect to the monitor!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your FOPO S17's second monitor is not receiving a display signal through USB-C. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check if Your HP Envy’s USB-C Port Supports Display Output

Not all USB-C ports support video output. Some only support data transfer and charging.

  • Check the user manual or HP’s official website to confirm if your laptop’s USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode (required for video output).
  • If your laptop has multiple USB-C ports, try switching to a different one.

2. Use a Certified USB-C Cable

  • Ensure you're using a high-quality USB-C to USB-C cable that supports video output (some cables only support power and data transfer).
  • If possible, try using the cable provided by FOPO.

3. Update Display Drivers & USB-C Firmware

  • Go to Device Manager → Display Adapters and update your graphics driver.
  • Also, check for USB-C firmware updates on HP’s support website.
  • If you're using Intel graphics, update the Intel Graphics Command Center.

4. Adjust Display Settings

  • Press Windows + P and select Extend or Duplicate.
  • Go to Display Settings (Right-click on Desktop → Display settings) and see if the monitor is detected.

5. Test the Monitor on Another Device

  • Try connecting the FOPO S17 to another laptop or phone with a USB-C video-out port.
  • If it works, the issue may be with your HP laptop’s USB-C configuration.

6. Try an Alternative Connection

  • If your laptop’s USB-C does not support video out, you may need to use an HDMI splitter or a USB-C to HDMI adapter.

Let me know if any of these steps help, or if you need further guidance!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
