Microsoft Windows 11

Hello I just purchased an Envy 3 days ago.

The auto-rotate feature worked perfectly over the weekend (even after being in deep sleep) until today when I took it to uni.

When I first took it out of my bag it was in portrait mode, then it quicky rotated to a normal orientation, after this the auto-rotate switch was greyed out.

I restarted it which fixed it for the time being (it started rotating again), until I put it to sleep and put it back in my bag (PADDED LAPTOP BAG), when I took it back out the auto-rotate switch was still functional (not greyed out) but I couldn't get the auto-rotate to work after that.

Why is it being like this? Did I somehow break it already?

Tried:

-restarting

-windows update

-additional windows update

-updates from hp support assistant

-driver updates (all up to date)

Fixed via HP Support:

1. Go to Device Manager>Human Interface Devices>HID-compliant touch screen

2. Uninstall HID-compliant touch screen (it will be reinstalled don't worry)

3. Restart

It's rotated and switched in/out of tablet mode reliably ever since.

Now the rotation lock is greyed out permanently and restarts don't fix it anymore. The rotation worked fine this morning, I really don't know what's wrong with it all of a sudden.
