Dear HP Support,
I’m experiencing frequent BSOD crashes on my HP system over the past 90 days, all showing the same bug check code: 0x00000116 (VIDEO_TDR_ERROR). The affected drivers include:
- dxgkrnl.sys – Version: 10.0.22610.717.1
- win32kbase.sys – Version: Unable to determine
- Ntfs.sys – Version: 10.0.22610.717.1
Unfortunately, the crash logs show “Invalid DateTime,” so I cannot provide exact timestamps. This issue appears to be related to graphics driver stability or hardware acceleration.
Request:
Please advise on the best steps to resolve this issue. I’d appreciate guidance on driver updates, firmware checks, or hardware diagnostics specific to HP systems.

Update Graphics Drivers:
- Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads and enter your computer's model number to find and download the latest graphics drivers.
- Alternatively, check the graphics card manufacturer's website (like NVIDIA or AMD) for the most recent driver updates.
Reinstall Graphics Drivers:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting it from the list.
- Expand Display adapters, right-click your graphics adapter, and select Uninstall device.
- Check the box to delete the software for this device, then restart your computer. After restarting, install the latest version you downloaded from HP or the graphics card manufacturer's site.
Update Windows:
Ensure your Windows operating system is up-to-date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and checking for updates.
Check for Overheating:
Ensure that your cooling fans are working properly and that your computer is not overheating. You may need to clean any dust from your system vents.
Check Hardware:
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider performing a hardware diagnostic test. HP provides built-in diagnostics you can access by restarting your computer and pressing F2 at the start-up. Run a comprehensive test to check the health of your graphics card.
