Hi @Joeyan
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It seems like the recent update might have introduced a bug affecting your desktop background settings.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Background Settings:
- Go to Settings > Personalization > Background and ensure your background image is still selected. If it's set to "Solid Color," change it back to your preferred image.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the HP Support page for your laptop and download the latest drivers for your graphics card.
Run System File Checker (SFC):
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow. This will scan and repair corrupted system files that might be causing the issue.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and ensure your system is fully updated. Sometimes, patches are released to fix bugs introduced by previous updates.
If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊
