HP Envy 17-3270NR
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I replace the internal battery of my HP Envy 17-3270nr. Since then, the indicator of the level of charge of the battery that is at the bottom of the screen looks incorrect. When the battery is full of charge, the indicator seems empty and vice versa. It displays either 100% or 0%. There is no way to know the real level of the battery between these numbers. How could I solve this problem, please?

Hello MrRobot. The problem of battery is solved. Everything is correct since the last week.

It seems that was just a problem of contact of the connector of the battery that was difficult to remain tight although I applied an adhesive tape on it. Finally, I fold a piece of cardboard that I lay on the connector and I use the cover under the laptop to press it so it prevents the connector of the battery from loosening.

I hope that everything will continue to work well.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you MrRobot pour your recommandation.

I applied what you proposed. That seemed to be correct. The  indicator of charging seemed to work correctly. But that lasts only one cycle of charging and unloading of the battery... Then when the battery is fully unloaded the indicator of loading displays "100% Fully charged" in lieu of "0%"

Do you think this could have a relation with the fact that, in the past years, I had installed windows 10 while still keeping the old version windows 7 also on my computer?

HP Recommended

It happened sometimes that the battery did not charge. And I asked myself if it does not misfunction.

HP Recommended

That arrived when the battery is fully unloaded.

And to restart the period of charging I am obliged to go inside the computer, to unplug and replug the connector of the battery.

@Henng, It's great to hear from you again.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

Battery life will vary depending on the product configuration, product model, applications loaded on the product, power management setting of the product, and the product features used by the customer. As with all batteries, the maximum capacity of this battery will decrease with time and usage.

Refer this article to know more information about Understanding Lithium-Ion battery.

Also, try running a battery test on your PC and check if the battery condition is good.

Have a great weekend ahead! 🙂
