Best Stylus for Envy x360

Hello Forum,

I just ordered an HP Envy x360 13" touchscreen 2-in-1 laptop.  I don't now anything about drawing on the screen with the Stylus.  From what I gather , it seems that you don't necessarily need a same-brand stylus to draw on the screen.  Is it the screen that picks up the action of the pen?  Is the pen communicating with the software?  

What is the stylus recommended for drawing fine drawings on the HP Envy x360?  What software is recommended?

I cannot comment on what you have found, read, gathered from various sources -- to do so would imply I have spent more time on this subject that I have done.  Smiling.

I can offer the following, which does list the available Pens for the compatible notebooks and includes HP's statement about compatibility.

Know that not every X360 is "stylus" ready -- if all else fails, return the notebook for a compatible model or consider using the Passive Pen which requires no special screen, software, or other "extras".

In so much that I am aware, only the one pen (as shown below) has its own driver.

First, find the computer's Model name

Next, search the document for a compatible stylus

If there is an HP Active Stylus available for your computer, it will be included in the list.

Hints: 

• Open the document in your browser
• Click open both categories (business and consumer) to expand the lists
• Examine the lists to find a possible match to your computer model
• If you do not find an active pen listed for your computer, consider the "passive" pen as mentioned in the document.

OR

• Use CTRL-F to open the webpage search bar – type in the model type of your computer, leaving off the “HP” prefix and stopping just before OR just after the “dash” in the name
• For example: Spectre x360 15-   or   Spectre x360
• If a match is found, examine the results to determine if there is a pen for your model group
• For example: matches for Spectre x360 15 include model groups: Spectre x360 15-ap0xx, Spectre x360 15-bl0xx
