Hi,

I have Black Stripe on right side of screen. I've tried many things and none of them work. I reinstalled Windows 10, but the error did not go away.
All this method below doesn't solve the problem either:

Method 1: Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps below, and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 1: Type Troubleshooting in the search box next to Start button and select the top most search result.

Step 2: Click on View all from left side panel of the screen.

Step 3: Select Hardware and Devices, click on Advanced option and check Apply repairs automatically option.

Step 4:  Follow the on screen instructions.

Method 2: If the issue persist, update the display driver from Device Manager manually by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 1: Press Windows key + X and click on Device Manager.

Step 2: Expand Display Adapter option.

Step 3: Right click on the display driver and select Update Driver Software.

Step 4: Restart the computer and check if the changes is effective.

I have no idea what else to try. HP Assistant DOES NOT DETECT ERRORS, so any help would be appreciated.

Maybe I forgot to write that it is an HP EliteBook 820 G2.

There is no way I can change the screen resolution no matter how many times I update the drivers.

I can't set the screen resolution to the correct 1366 x 768 pixels (now I have 1024 x 768p so the black border appears). Generic PnP Monitor... this resolution is even worse.

Any idea?

How can I "convince" the system that I need a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels?
Where and how should I get the appropriate drivers?

Thanks for all the advice,
Ales

Hi

and thanks for answer!

I using HP EliteBook 820 G2

Product number:  M8W53EC#ABD

Maybe also this information. If I connect the computer (via VGA), the image on the external monitor is just fine. No black band on right side.

I would be very grateful if you could help me🙏.

Greetings!

I'm really disappointed. On my next purchase, I will try hard not to choose anything related to HP😑.

This is not the first problem. When I bought an HP multifunction device some time ago, I had a lot of trouble connecting it to my computer.

I will give other brands a chance in the future.
