My Laptop recently hung and I could not even do a ctrl/alt/delete to run the task program to see what was happening, so I powered off manualy. Upon startup, I have a black border running down the right hand side of the page and cannot see the taskbar along the bottom. I have set the resolution to 1280x720 to enable access to the bottom taskbar. I have updated the driver for the display, but this did not cure the problem. How can I get back to 1280x800 ?

FIXED ! Latest set of Microsoft updates have cured the problem. The resolution is now at 1366x768 (recommended) !!!!!

I can only think that I powered the laptop off when microsoft were downloading updates, pity Microsoft do not inform you they are doing this and subsequently freeze you out 😞
