HP Recommended

Hello Guys, i did the newest BIOS update on my 15-bs530ng notebook for no reason, I just saw it and did it. After doing it, it says display could flash some times, but my display didnt flash, instead I had a black Screen. So I decided to turn it off and turn on again and from now on I have no picture just a black Screen.

I have searched so many methods none of them worked. I did: windows + b / v used an usb to flash new bios opened the back and replaced the cmos battery tried to spam esc or any other f key but im not sure which one would do anything.

Please help me!

Hi @ddanut2000,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 15-bs530ng notebook shows a black screen after a BIOS update, and no picture appears even after multiple recovery attempts. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot this.

a. Power Reset / Discharge

Disconnect AC power and any external devices.

Remove the CMOS battery if you haven’t already.

Press and hold the Power button for 30–40 seconds to fully discharge residual power.

Reinsert the CMOS battery, connect AC only, and try powering on.

b. BIOS Recovery via USB

Ensure your USB drive is FAT32 formatted.

Place the correct BIOS .bin or .fd file for 15-bs530ng on the USB.

Insert USB and use the key combination:

Windows + B, then Power On

Keep holding for 2–3 seconds, then release and wait 1–2 minutes for recovery to start.

If Windows + B doesn’t work, try Windows + V or Power + Esc / F2 / F10 combinations.

c. External Display Test

Connect the laptop to an external monitor via HDMI or VGA.

Power on the laptop and see if the display appears externally.

If external display works, the internal panel may have a timing mismatch or backlight issue.

d. Minimal Hardware Boot

Remove all non-essential components (secondary RAM, SSD/HDD, peripherals).

Boot with only one RAM module, AC connected, and USB BIOS recovery inserted.

This reduces interference and sometimes allows BIOS recovery to succeed.

e. Clear CMOS Again

Some laptops require two-step CMOS clear after a failed BIOS update:

Remove AC and CMOS battery for 15–30 minutes.

Press Power button 30–40 seconds while unplugged.

Reinsert CMOS battery and AC, then attempt BIOS recovery.

I hope this helps.

Thank for your reply.

I will mentioned that I tried at least 9-10 Bios versions starting with F.21(original) and the last one F.75A  but only bin file. I never hear about another tyoe of BIoS file.

Plese telll me another keys combination to try ESC only, or togheter with F2/F10, or FN + R ( for Insyde Bios) !

Thank you in advance!

Hi @ddanut2000,

Thank you for getting back to me and for confirming the steps you’ve already tried, I really appreciate your patience and persistence.

Since your HP 15-bs530ng powers on (lights and fan running) but still shows no display even after multiple recovery attempts, this points to a BIOS corruption at a hardware level where the system is unable to initialize the display.

Let’s try one last advanced step before proceeding with service:

Forced BIOS Crisis Recovery (Deep Flash Attempt)

Disconnect all external devices (USB, HDMI, etc.).

Remove the battery (if removable) and disconnect AC power.

Insert the prepared BIOS recovery USB drive (FAT32 format, correct BIOS file inside).

Press and hold Windows + B, then plug in the AC adapter while still holding the keys.

Keep holding for 15–20 seconds, even if there’s no immediate reaction.

Watch for any LED blink pattern or fan behavior change, this usually indicates the BIOS recovery process has started.

If there’s still no display or LED activity after this forced recovery attempt, it’s likely the BIOS chip has failed and needs to be reflashed

I hope this helps.
