@Abhinath, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding a black screen error!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I see what you’re running into – that black screen with the “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart” message can feel like hitting a brick wall. Don’t worry, we’ll walk through this step by step.

Here’s what you can try:

Hard Reboot – Press and hold the power button for about 10–15 seconds until the laptop fully shuts down. Then power it back on.

Safe Mode – If it keeps looping, try starting in Safe Mode:

Power on → as soon as you see the HP logo, press F11 repeatedly.

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.

Select Safe Mode with Networking.

Update Drivers – Once in Safe Mode, check for pending Windows Updates and install the latest graphics and BIOS updates from HP Support Assistant.

System File Check – Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run: sfc /scannow

This will scan and repair corrupted system files.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
