I recently tried to reuse my old laptop with a broken screen. I connected a monitor to and everything seemed to be just fine, that was untill i realised the boot screen or BIOS doent show on the monitor. The monitor shows no signal untill OS loads.
I have alredy tried taking out the laptops screen but that doesnt seem to work.
A little held would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Sorry, but you can't use an external monitor as a replacement for the screen on a laptop because the monitor display will not activate until Windows it running since it needs Windows drivers to work.  There is no way around this.
