HP Spectre x360 - 13t-ac000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,

I've been having issues with my HP Spectre x360 for a while with the brightness flickering frequently when I watch video in fullscreen. It's subtle but annoying, and happens regardless of the browser I am watching on. This only happens when it is unplugged and on battery power, so I'm guessing it might have to do with power-saving auto brightness (though it happens outside of battery saver mode as well). I have updated the drivers for my graphics card (Intel HD Graphics 620) but the problem persists.

Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Hi@tunatime,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing flickering issues with the HP Spectre X360 Laptop.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.

Try and check in Bios using the F10 key if the screen is flickering in Bios. To enter Bios, click restart and keep tapping the F10 key and then turn on the PC at the same time to enter Bios screen.

For any hardware issue or repair please click on the link Phone Assist Worldwide

If the issue persists in Bios then it is a hardware issue on the screen.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Perhaps it is the graphic IC or the screen itself. I would recommend to take it to the nearest repair center and get it checked.
