HP Spectre 360 15"
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since the coronavirus lockdown, I have been doing a lot of video chats, and the feedback I have gotten from everyone is that my video quality is really poor (and I can see it myself). One person noted that everything looked purple, another said I was very grainy. I also notice that it doesn't seem to deal with light very well; sitting at my desk, it often makes my face look super bright and washed out, even if I play with the lights in the room trying to improve it. The thing is, everyone else on my video calls looks quite sharp in comparison. I am really shocked at this given that I paid for a really high-end laptop that has been exceptional in every other respect. I have been reading lots of other complaints about this, so it apparently isn't just me. If anyone has anymore info on this issue, I would love to hear it.

I have the same problem on my ProBook 450 G7. Windows 10 Pro.
The drivers are up to date using HP Support Assistant.
The webcam video is grainy under all lighting conditions. There is a lot of image noise like it's using a really high ISO setting. The webcam video lacks contrast and colour saturation and sometimes looks very overexposed.

The grainy quality is consistent across applications.  I have tested with the Win 10 Camera app, Skype and Jitsi meet. All grainy.

Looking for a solution. Thanks.

I have the same issue and paid a fair bit for the Laptop, is there a fix?

Hi Launie, I have not found a solution.
My conclusion is that it is a really cheap and poor quality camera in a not-so-cheap laptop.

It's disappointing and I've reverted back to my old Dell for video conferencing.
