Hi,
I've just bought a used S140u Elitedisplay USB screen. It's working well, except that:
1- the 2 buttons controlling the brightness don't work. The power button works.
2- If I use the HP's drivers, on each startup i got a error message saying that AddOn_OSD.exe stopped working. If I use DisplayLink software then the problem does not occur.
My configuration: Dell latitude E5430, Windows 10 x64 FR uptodate and drivers from HP uptodate.
Thanks.

Ok here is the thing HP does NOT support Windows 10. So if you have Windows 10 (or MacOS) use the display link drivers, it should work, except the brightness buttons.
If you have Windows 7/8/8.1, use the HP drivers, so the brightness buttons should work.

I'm starting to think that the two problems are correlated, maybe the brightness buttons relies on HP AddOn_OSD which relies on HP OSD Driver which is not installed cause I have a Dell.
I had a look on HP website but can't find OSD for Windows 10 http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=vc_155808_1&swEnvOid=4158#tab-history

Hi. Did anyone come up with a solution to this problem? I am trying to use the S140U on a Levovo laptop with windows 10, but the lack of brightness adjustment makes it too dim to be functional.
Not only do the physical brightness buttons not work on the monitor, but the brightness setting in the windows 'display settings' is greyed out.
HP phone support have been no help and suggested sending the monitor back for replcaement. Appears to be a driver/compatibility problem to me.
Any ideas?
Thanks
