Hi @Mozarella,
Thank you for the response.
Try these steps:
Check Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Look for Imaging devices or Cameras.
- If you do not find your camera listed, it might be disabled or have a hardware issue.
Verify BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS setup by pressing F10 (or the appropriate key for your system) during startup.
- Navigate to System Configuration and confirm that the built-in webcam is enabled.
Update BIOS:
- Download and install the latest BIOS update from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page specifically for your model.
- Follow the instructions to update BIOS.
Reinstall Camera Driver:
- Sometimes, Windows might already have the necessary drivers.
- In Device Manager, click on Action and then Scan for hardware changes to see if Windows detects the camera and installs the driver.
Use HP Support Assistant:
- Open HP Support Assistant from the Start Menu or download it from HP Support Assistant.
- Use it to check for and install any available updates for your device.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.
- Install all available updates as they may include drivers for the camera.
Install Generic Camera Driver:
- Sometimes using a generic driver can solve the issue.
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera device (if found) and select Update driver.
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers and then Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
- Select the generic USB Video Device driver from the list.
I hope this helps.
