I started noticing in some apps (Zoom, Google Meets etc.) that my camera has not been working. So, I spent several hours, doing research online and troubleshooting the camera. Here is what I already did:
* Tried to change settings in the apps - there is no camera in the setting
* Restart computer - did not help
* Tried Microsoft Windows 11 online diagnostics - it did not find anything helpful
* Check antivirus, whether it is blocking camera - it is not blocking
* Search, whether there is a switch in my system disabling camera - there is none
* Check the privacy/security permission in Control Panel - camera is enabled
* Check Device Manager - the camera does NOT exist in the system.
* Searched for new / updated hardware in Device Manager - it did not find anything new
Some online forums were suggesting updating driver: it does not apply to my case because the camera is not in the system, so I cannot update driver of a non-existing hardware.
My assumption is that the camera if faulty (hardware problem).
Any other advice / hints I should do before replacing the camera or the whole laptop?
