Hi @Las551,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop camera is not working on Zoom and shows a slashed-out camera icon, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Check Camera Permissions:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
  • Ensure that camera access is turned on for your device and for Zoom specifically.

Select the Correct Camera in Zoom:

  • Open the Zoom app.
  • Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select Settings.
  • Go to the Video tab and ensure the correct camera is selected from the drop-down menu.

Update Camera Drivers:

  • Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Imaging devices section.
  • Right-click on your camera and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Check Camera Usage in Other Applications:

  • Close other applications that might be using the camera (e.g., Skype, Teams).
  • Open another application that uses the camera (like the Camera app) to see if it works there.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve hardware issues.

Reinstall Zoom:

  • Uninstall Zoom from your laptop.
  • Download the latest version from the Zoom website and reinstall it.

Disable and Re-enable the Camera:

  • In Device Manager, right-click on your camera and select Disable device.
  • Wait a few seconds, then right-click it again and select Enable device.

Check Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any available updates. Install them if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
