Hi @YashChawla,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Error 0xA00F4244 (“We can’t find your camera”)  It usually means Windows cannot detect the camera hardware or the camera is being blocked by a driver, BIOS privacy setting, or security policy.

Kindly please follow the below steps in order to fix this issue.

1. Check the Camera Privacy Key / Button (HP-specific)

Many HP laptops have:

  • A keyboard key (often F8, F10, F11 depending on model)
  • A physical shutter switch near the webcam
  • A side privacy button (HP Sure View models)

Look for:

  • A small LED near the camera
  • A shutter icon (◐)

Press the camera key once → try the camera again.

2.Enable Camera in Windows Privacy Settings

Windows can block camera access.

Go to:

Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera

Make sure:
Camera access is on
Let apps access your camera is On
Apps like Camera, Teams, Zoom have permissions

Restart the Camera app.

3.Reset Camera USB Controller

Device Manager → Imaging devices or Cameras
If camera appears:

  • Right-click → Disable
  • Wait 10 seconds
  • Enable again

Then restart PC.

4.Reinstall Camera Driver

Device Manager → Cameras → Your webcam

Right-click → Uninstall device
Check Delete the driver software
Restart PC.

Windows will reinstall the default UVC driver.

5.Look for “Unknown Device” or “USB Device Failed”

Sometimes the webcam shows up under:

  • Other devices
  • USB Controllers
  • System devices

With a yellow triangle

If you see one:

6.Update Windows & Optional Updates

Go to:

Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates
Then:
Advanced options → Optional updates → Driver updates

Restart.

8. Install HP Webcam Driver / Software

Go to: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
Click on Drivers & Software
Enter your laptop model Serial Number .

Download:

  • Realtek/HP Camera Driver
  • Intel Chipset Driver
  • HP System Event Utility
  • Intel Management Engine

These often restore the missing camera interface.

9.Check BIOS Settings (important)

Restart → press F10 for BIOS.

Look for:
 Camera = Enabled
 Internal camera = On
Security → Device Security → Integrated Camera = Enabled

If disabled → enable + save.

Reset Windows Camera App

Settings → Apps → Installed apps → "Camera"
Click → Advanced options → Reset

Then try again.

I hope this helps.
