I understand your camera isn’t working and shows the message “We can’t find your camera.” Let’s go through a few checks to see what might be causing this.
Check if the camera is disabled in Device Manager
Press Windows + X → Device Manager → Cameras or Imaging Devices.
If you see your camera listed, right-click and choose Enable, if available.
Update or reinstall the camera driver
In Device Manager, right-click the camera → Update Driver.
If the issue continues, choose Uninstall Device, then restart your PC.
Make sure camera access is allowed in Windows settings
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
Turn on Camera access and Let apps access your camera.
Check for an app-level camera block
Open the Camera app → click the Settings icon.
If there is a privacy block or error, it will show up there.
Verify that no other app is using the camera
Close any app that might be using the camera (Teams, Zoom, browsers).
Only one app can access the camera at a time.
Look for physical camera shutter or F10 key toggle
Some HP laptops have a camera privacy shutter or a function key (F10).
Make sure the shutter is open or toggle the camera key once.
Restart the PC after making changes
Restarting applies driver and privacy updates that may resolve the error.
