Hi @Sal2205,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To troubleshoot the issue of your HP E243m monitor's camera not being detected by your Lenovo ThinkCentre, you can follow these steps.

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that the USB cable from the monitor is connected to your Lenovo ThinkCentre. The camera and other USB devices on the monitor require this connection to communicate with your computer.
  • Verify that the HDMI or DisplayPort cable is properly connected for video output, but remember that USB connectivity is necessary for the camera.

Download and Install Drivers:

  • Visit the HP support website and search for the HP E243m monitor drivers.
  • Download and install the latest drivers for the camera, USB hub, and other peripherals.

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager on your Lenovo ThinkCentre.
  • Look under "Imaging devices" or "Universal Serial Bus controllers" to see if the camera is listed.
  • If the camera appears with a yellow exclamation mark, right-click on it and select "Update driver."
  • If the camera does not appear, try to scan for hardware changes by clicking on the "Action" menu and selecting "Scan for hardware changes."

Update Windows:

  • Ensure your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, Windows updates include drivers for peripherals.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Try Different USB Ports:

  • Plug the monitor's USB cable into a different USB port on your ThinkCentre. Sometimes specific ports may have issues.

Test on Another Computer:

  • Connect the monitor to another computer to determine if the issue is with the monitor or the ThinkCentre.

Check Monitor Settings:

  • Access the on-screen display (OSD) menu of your HP E243m monitor to ensure that the camera is enabled. Sometimes, peripheral devices can be turned on or off through the monitor settings.

Reinstall Camera Driver:

  • Uninstall any existing camera drivers and then reinstall them. This can sometimes resolve conflicts or corrupt installations.
  • In Device Manager, right-click on the camera device (if visible), select "Uninstall device," and then restart your computer. After restarting, the system should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

If you've tried all the above steps and the camera still isn't detected, there could be a hardware issue with either the monitor or the computer's USB ports.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
