HP EliteBook 830 G6
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi HP Experts,

My laptop is EliteBook 830 G6, with Intel i5-8365U CPU and 32GB RAM.

I want to use its docking station to connect external monitor (which has its own power supply) via a DP cable.

What is the maximum resolution it can support? Can it support 4K 3840x2160? What is the max. framerate/refreshrate it can support via the docking station? Can it support more via the USB 3.1/Thunderbolt port, if I used a hub on that?

Thanks!

Most likely it is compatible with the HP USB-C G5 dock. Please use the following table

The highlighted line is my test (confirmed).

Thank you for the fast reply.

Yes this dock is most likely compatible but I am wondering what the max. framerate and resolution would be through a docking STATION not a hub with USB-C but a docking station using the docking port (because that's what I'm currently using and I'm wondering if I should buy a 4k monitor or if it would be wasted money, since my docking station can't do 4k anyway.

Sincerely

Kostja

Please see the above table. The ROT is resolution goes up, refresh rate will go down and vice versa.
