Although I just purchased this computer, it obviously is an old model. I only figured this out when I tried to play a Blu-ray (this is 2018), and it wouldn't load. That's because it is only equipped with a SuperMulti DVD burner.

What do I have to do to replace it with a Blu-Ray burner?

Thank you.

Your machine is an HP ENVY Notebook 17t-u000 CTO machine. The following manual (page 1)  says it has ODD specs:

  • Support for 9.0-mm tray load, SATA fixed (not modular)
  • Support for DVD±RW DL SuperMulti Drive
  • Support for zero-power optical drive
  • Support M-disc

I can't find 9.0mm BlueRay drive for Envy 17t-u000 laptops. Please check the following parts make sura thickness is 9.0 mm otherwise it won't fit physically.

Page 34 of the manual shows you how to replace the drive.

It is an HP ENVY Laspton 17" Touch Best Value. That's all the model information I can ascertain at the moment; I also configured it by myself, obviously. If I can provide other information for assistance, please let me know.
