Can I use two external displays with my HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae0xx?

I have an HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae0xx. I would like to hook it up to two external displays, each using HDMI-HDMI cables. Ideally, I would like to use:

- 1x HP USB-C to Multi-port Hub

- 1x HP Spectre USB-C Travel Dock

Each of the above has an HDMI port and they will plug into the 2x USB-C ports in the laptop. I can also plug the charging cable into the additional USB-C port in the HP USB-C to Multi-port Hub for charging.

Assuming I don't mind whether or not the laptop screen is used (as a third display) when connected to the two external displays. In fact, I probably wouldn't want to use it.

Question:

Will this setup work as I'd like it to, while still being able to charge? If not, what is the hardware/software deficiency I'd need to overcome to make it work?

This would work as you envision but it seems overkill to need 2 docks. 

I used an Iogear GUD3C02 with my Spectre which passes through the charging and then has an HDMI and mini-DP which can be used with a mini-DP to HDMI adapter to have 2 screens connected to the dock by HDMI. I am using it now with the laptop that replaced my Spectre with 2 screens connected. I personally prefer to use a DP connection for displays but the HDMI works.

Thanks Huffer. It's not so much that I "want" one each of those. It's that I have easy access to those items so I could avoid purchasing something else if it works.

One last question: Why do you prefer mini-DP over HDMI for displays? What is the benefit?

DP more reliably drives high resolution displays. And your Thunderbolt port puts out a DP signal so if you want to use HDMI it has to be translated making more chance for incompatibility. DP just works in other words.
