2 screens HP E24q G5, 1 HP USB-C Dock G5, 1 HP 250 G8 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

I am willing to use two external screens HP E24q G5 via HP USB-C Dock G5 for my HP 250 G8 Notebook PC. As of the moment upon connection of screens through the deck to notebook via DisplayPorts screens do not recongnize input signal, whereas if screens are connected directly to notebook via HDMI they work. But considering 1 HDMI port at notebook only one screen can be connected at a time.

Are those devices compatible? - if so, through which cable and ports they should be connected. If they do not work together be default, are there additional devices or set ups that could make them work?

Thanks,

Nikita

Hi Nikita,

The USB-C ports on the notebook are only for data transfer

(1) USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C 5 Gbps signaling rate (data transfer only; charging or external monitors not supported)

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06951526

so it means it does not support DP alt mode and the monitors will not work.

Hope it helps,

David

Just adding

If you need to add two monitors to the notebook you will have to get a USB adapter with displaylink which is basically and external "graphics card"

Example

Hope it helps,
