Hi @AmyT2017,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Yes, you can connect more than one monitor to your HP 14" HD Laptop if it supports multiple displays. Here’s a step-by-step guide to connecting multiple monitors and setting them up:

1. Check the Laptop’s Ports

Identify Available Ports:

  • Look at the sides of your laptop for video output ports such as HDMI, USB-C, or Mini DisplayPort.
  • Some laptops also support connecting through USB to HDMI adapters if direct video output ports are unavailable.

Determine Compatibility:

  • Ensure that your monitors are compatible with the output ports available on your laptop.

2. Connecting the Monitors

Using HDMI Port:

  • Connect one monitor to the HDMI port on your laptop using an HDMI cable.

Using USB-C Port:

  • If your laptop has a USB-C port that supports video output (DisplayPort over USB-C), you can connect a monitor using a USB-C to HDMI or DisplayPort adapter.

Using USB to HDMI Adapter:

  • If you need to connect more than one external monitor, and your laptop only has one video output port, you can use a USB-to-HDMI adapter. These adapters allow you to connect additional monitors via USB ports.

3. Configuring the Monitors

Open Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • You can also access this through Settings > System > Display.

Detect Displays:

  • Click the Detect button if your monitors aren’t automatically detected.

Arrange Displays:

  • You’ll see a graphical representation of your monitors. Drag the display icons to match their physical arrangement on your desk.

Set Display Mode:

  • Scroll down to the Multiple displays section.
  • Choose the display mode that suits your needs:
    • Duplicate: Show the same screen on all monitors.
    • Extend: Expand your desktop across all monitors.
    • Second screen only: Use only the external monitor(s).

Apply Changes:

  • Click Apply to confirm the settings. You may need to adjust resolution settings for each monitor to ensure optimal display quality.

4. Troubleshooting

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
