HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb002ne
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi, I have "HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb002ne" laptop, and initially it had windows 10 installed on it.

Then I decided to change my OS to windows 7 professional.

After changing my OS, I can not control my screen brightness neither from (f2 f3 keyboard's buttons) nor from the control panel (the scroll bar does not exist even)

So I decided to go to hp official website to download the appropriate drivers, I select my laptop model, and when I am asked to select my OS, I found only windows 10

So what must I do?

@AB_123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I recommend you reinstall Windows 10 back on the computer as there are no drivers available for Windows 7.

Your computer was shipped with Windows 10 operating system and only Windows 10 drivers are available for your computer.

Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Hi The_Fossette, thank you for your reply.

The problem is the windows 10 always do updates, and I can not stop it from doing updates permanently. And my internet resource is limited, so with updates, it is consumed very quickly ... So what do you advise me to do?

@AB_123,

I recommend you install Windows 10 on the computer and then follow the below steps to stop Windows updates permanently.

  1. Open Start.
  2. Search for gpedit.msc and select the top result to launch the experience.
  3. Navigate to the following path:

    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update

  4. Double-click the Configure Automatic Updates policy on the right side.

  5. Check the Disabled option to turn off the policy.

  6. Click the Apply button.
  7. Click the OK button.

Once you complete the steps, Windows 10 will stop downloading updates automatically.

Sorry, but I have one more question:

Does this method stop windows 10 from updating permanently?

I have been trying before many methods, but windows 10 updating always returns on.

Maybe because it is triggered or something else?

@AB_123,

Yes, the above steps should stop the Windows updates permanently.

I have reinstalled windows 10, but 2 things do not work.

The first is the mute button, it actually mutes the voice, but it is not lighted up (orange light).

The second is the screen brightness, when I use the screen brightness keys, it shows on the screen that brightness is being changed but, in fact, the brightness is the same. And when I click on the battery icon (in the right corner), I will be able to control the brightness bar but also the brightness is the same. In addition, the brightness is missed from the control panel.

Can you help me, please?

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Also, sleep and hibernate does not appear with restart and shutdown, and also night light does not make any effect on the screen light, maybe it is for the same reason?
