I have an HP Envy 17 ch000 and HP pen 1MR94AA. I am running Windows 11. My research on purchasing the pen said these were compatible. They will not pair. I have tried to get the HP pen control app and it says my laptop is not compatible. I have Windows Ink installed. Help Please!

Welcome to the HP User Community.

The description you provided does not include enough information to really tie-down the exact model name / Product Number of your machine.

That said,

I found what I believe to be the product series information.

There is no indication that this series (computers in the same group) supports a pen.

That means:  There is no active stylus pen supported on this series.

Yeah, but...

If you would like us to recheck,

Please provide us with the exact model name / product number of your computer.

How to find

Finding your Product Name, Product Number, or Serial Number

Reminder:  Do Not post the serial number or any private information in the Community – we are a public resource.

====================

If you wish to do so,

If your computer has a touchscreen,

If an active stylus is not an option on your machine,

Consider a Passive Stylus / Pen

This is not the same thing as an active stylus, of course.

Passive pen works like your finger on the touchscreen.

Yes, understood.  Very large print is easy to read.  Smiling.

OK --

No exact name available and / or you cannot find the information on the exact model name of your computer.

Based on what I can find for the models that are listed in the resources I have available (about six models)

This computer does not support an active stylus.

Can you provide information that shows the computer is compatible with the HP Pen?

I keep getting the response of if there is an option to connect a pen then it is compatible? Under the Bluetooth/Devices options, pen is listed, when I try to connect the pen, it will not. I do have touch screen.

This is not what I am saying - you might be getting this response from someone / something else, of course.

The information I can find - admittedly limited and complicated by not knowing your exact computer model:

The pen is NOT supported on your computer.

Your first post:

My research on purchasing the pen said these were compatible.

OK...

Can you share the research results?

Where did you find the information that indicates the pen is compatible with this computer series / model?

Please do not link private sites (blogs, twitter, other social media).  Thanks.

What if?

If the pen is compatible,

If the computer is compatible with the pen and the application,

(then)

The HP Pen Control application for the Pen should install.

  • HP Pen Control – Microsoft Store - Description:  This application allows customization of stylus buttons for HP stylus models – including HP Pen and HP Rechargeable MPP2.0 Tilt Pen.  You can seamlessly switch between stylus button function.  HP Pen, HP Rechargeable MPP2.0 Tilt Pen, and the HP Pen Control application are provided for supported computer models.

Unfortunately, I cannot give you a better or different answer.
