Hello. I have notebook HP Pavilion dv6 6b04er. I want to switch to fixed mode in bios to use only discret videocard (6750m). I have updated the latest bios version for my device, but I still  can't find option "Switchable graphics mode" in bios. Please help!
Thanks.

Hi Spoody, welcome to the HP Forums. Your notebook should have a BIOS option to set it to fixed mode. Use this document to refer to the BIOS screen shot, and let me know if yours has the same section
(Ignore the title of the link): OpenGL Applications Cannot Use Discrete GPU

Here is the overview of Switchable Graphics. See the section "Determine if your computer has switchable graphics" and let me know if it indicates that you have switchable graphics: Overview of Switchable Graphics or Dual GPUs

Let me know the results.

Thank you for your reply, Terry TwoPointOh. I have looked in system configuration in bios and there still no option "Switchable Graphics Mode".

Also I checked if my computer has switchable graphics, and yes it does: 1) I have two videocards in device manager (6620g and 6600M/6700M series (6750M)); 2) in desktop properties menu (when I clicked right mouse button on desktop) I have "Configure  Switchable Graphics".

However, in "Configure Switcheble Graphics" option (on desktop) there are nothing but some online ads. Before updating beta drivers for ATI Catalyst, I had opportunity to switch performance for my applications. Now it's gone.

Version of bios Hewlett Packard F.1C, 25.01.2013.

Driver package version of Catalyst - 13.25.18-131129a-165580E-ATI. Catalyst driver - 13.11.

There is the pictre of my bios. Please, help me. Thank you again.

Hi Spoody. If the option to configure is no longer there, you can probably fix that by restoring the original graphics drivers. Unfortunately the ATI beta drivers probably caused the options to be removed. Here are the relevant instructions to recover the original graphics drivers.

Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7)

Greetings @David0901

Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are looking to use switchable graphics on your computer, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

May I know the exact product number of your computer? Click here. Please do not share the serial number of your computer.

Please click here for the user manual of your computer.

Switchable graphics is not available on all computers.

To determine which graphics mode you are using:  Right-click on a blank area of the computer desktop, and then click Configure Switchable Graphics or Configure ATI PowerXpressTM.

To update all the drivers on your computer, please use HP Support Assistant. Please refer to this HP Article to know more about HPSA.

Let me know if this helped.
