Hi guys,

 

Really struggling to get my new 'HP 27f 4k Ultraslim Monitor (3840 x 2160) 27 Inch (2 HDMI, 1 DP) - Silver/Black' to show in 4k resolution at 60hertz. I have a 'HP Pavilion Laptop 14-ce0xxx' and cannot seem to find the settings to see if the output supports 60 hertz. I have used my standard HDMI cable which only goes up to 30 hertz. So I decided to purchase a USB -C to display cable in which the display didn't even turn on. So I refunded that and purchased a HSMI 2.0 which states that it's certified and supports 4k at 60 hertz. I tried this and even this medthod only supports 30 hertz. I 've run out of options on what to do and really hoping somebody may know what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks.

The HDMI port on your machine is

 

        HDMI v1.4 supporting up to 1920×1080 @ 60Hz

 

Which does not support 4K monitors at 60Hz. As you know resolution goes up refresh rate will go down therefore you can get 4K monitor with 30Hz on your current HDMI connection on tour machine

Sorry to bother you but I was wondering if the USB to display port was can do 4k at 60 hertz on my machine?
