HP E27d G4 QHD Advanced Docking Monitor
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I am using a  MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), running Catalina 10.15, connected via the HDMI cable with a MiniDisplay Port.

 The monitor works.

The camera however does not.

I can't get my mac to recognize that there's an external camera plugged in.  Seems that b/c HP doesn't support Mac (or vice versa) there are no drivers and limited resources available.  It also appears I'm not the only one having this issue.  Any specific help would be appreciated!

Processor:

1.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5

Memory:

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR

Graphics:

Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB

Also a MacBook Pro 13" running MacOS 10.15.6

Case ID - 5052064074

Love the dock and the resolution. It's a winner if only the camera would detect.

The answer via Whatsapp was "The monitor is not tested with mac units Please check with mac support"

I asked the Australian Educational Support people to investigate.

The answer that solved the issue was to connect it to a windows 10 computer. Update the firmware and then connect it to your MacBook.

The Firmware for the HP E27d G4 QHD Docking Monitor must be at least 1.1.7.0 and it can only be done on a windows computer.
