Hi! I'm trying to use my laptop here as a display for my Xbox Series X, somehow, when I try to "detect another display" in the multiple displays option (as I saw I should do on the internet ^^') it says it dosen't find any.

I've tried using the HDMI port and using a HDMI to USB-C adapter and neither changed anything.

(sorry the screenshot is in french but it's just to illustrate)

Any tips ?Capture d’écran 2026-05-14 033939.png

Your notebook's HDMI port is output only, so you can't use your notebook as a display for another device.

Many notebook's USB-C ports do not support video out, and the video from a USB-C port would also be output only as well.

Since you didn't post the full model number or product number of your notebook, I would have no idea if your notebook's USB-C port supports video out.

Bottom line...no matter what you try, you cannot use your notebook's display as a monitor for another device.

You're very welcome.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:

The good news is, your notebook's USB-C ports do support video out.

See chapter 2, page 6.

But there are no notebooks that I know of that support the use of the notebook's display as a monitor for another device.

Try using your USB-C connector, and attempt using OBS with some settings. That works for me atleast, im decent at OBS so you can ask me for help :'D
