Just did several HP updates: now cannot download pictures on any emails received. When I click on the message to download the pictures in the email (these are not JPG pics but graphics from the senders - advertisement pics etc.) It indicates that I now have to add to trusted and when it indicates to "click here to download pictures" I just get a blank space where the picture ought to be. Any suggestions?

Hi! @SherryEllen,

Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.

Display images for individual emails:

  1. Click Tools.
  2. Select Trust Center.
  3. Select Automatic Download.
  4. Uncheck the "Don't download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items" checkbox.

Add a contact to your safe sender list:

Another way to ensure that images download is to ensure that the sender is on your safe sender list.

  1. Click on Tools > Options.

  3. Click on the tab for Safe Senders.
  4. Click Add to add the email to the list.
  5. Click OK to exit this window.
  6. Click OK to close out of the Options menu.

Display images for all emails:

  1. Click the File > Options.
  2. Click Trust Center.
  3. Click the  Trust Center Settings button.
  4. Uncheck the box next to the "Don't download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items" option.

So none of this works. I use Outlook Office 365. Is there a different solution?

Sorry you wanted the make and model number of my laptop: Envy - purchased last October from Best Buy. Where do I find the model #?

Hi! @SherryEllen,

Thanks for writing back to us.

The steps I have suggested is for the outlook. However, you can try the steps recommended below and check if it helps.

Check if you have text only emails enabled:

Click File.
Click Options.
Click Trust Center Settings.
Click E-mail Security.
Under Read as Plain Text, make sure that the Read all standard mail in plain text is unchecked

To resolve this issue, follow these steps.

Important: Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.

  1. Exit Outlook.
  2. Start Registry Editor. To do this, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for your situation:
    • Windows 8 or Windows 10: Press Windows Key+R to open a Run dialog box.
    • Windows 7 or Windows Vista: Click Start, and then click Run to open a Run dialog box.
  3. Type regedit.exe, and then press Enter.
  4. Locate and click the following subkey.
    • Without Group Policy:

      Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Common
      DWORD: BlockHTTPimages
      Value: 1

    • With Group Policy:

      Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\policies\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Common
      DWORD: BlockHTTPimages
      Value: 1
  5. Right-click the BlockHTTPimages key, and then click Delete.
  6. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
  7. On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.

Let me know if this helps!

Take Care!
