Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am unable to turn off my Touchpad on my laptop.  I do not have an on/off button for the Touchpad.  Double clicking in the upper left corner of the Touchpad does not turn it off or on.  So I have followed more advice to open the Mouse Settings and select "Additional Mouse Options".

There is no Touchpad tab.

I tried opening the Touchpad Settings.Screenshot (9).png

There is no toggle switch to turn the Touchpad off.

I tried selecting the Synaptics SMBus TouchPad Properties.

There is no way to Disable Device.

I tried Uninstall Device, but it was reinstalled when I rebooted.

Can someone tell me what I need to do to permanently disable the Touchpad?

Thanks!

@aus1c,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to disable touchpad on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click on Devices.
  3. Click on Touchpad.
  4. Under "Touchpad," clear the Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected option

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
