Omnibook Ryzen Ai 365 / 880m fgx
Microsoft Windows 11

I was able to make updates to the AMD Adrenaline Software and the radeon 880m drivers of my Omnibook with Ryzen ai 365 since I bougth it in december/24
Now, after a surprise bios update during start up around 2 months ago, that got isntalled without any warning or request for allowance, no update works anymore. It says "theres was an issue finding the path".
I did a clean Windows 11 installation using the microsoft tool, without any HP bloat, and the first thing I tried was to install the lastest version of the driver from AMD website with their current installer application and guess what? The same error.
Now the only drive that works is the one from HP's support site that was released this year but the actuall GFX drivers are from 2024 still.

How to fix this?

Hi @GeterMoura,

I understand your OmniBook Ryzen AI 365 with Radeon 880M stopped accepting AMD Adrenalin updates after an unexpected BIOS update. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm the BIOS version installed
Press F10 at startup → System Information → note the BIOS version/date.
Some BIOS updates lock the system into OEM-validated drivers only, which can block the AMD installer.

Reset BIOS settings to defaults
In BIOS → Exit tab → “Load Setup Defaults.”
Incorrect or changed security settings (like UMA mode or firmware TPM states) can interfere with driver installation paths.

Check Windows security features
Go to Windows Security → Device Security → Core Isolation → Memory Integrity.
Temporarily disable it and reboot; this feature can block the AMD installer from accessing needed folders.

Fully remove existing graphics drivers
Download and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in Safe Mode.
Choose “Clean and restart” for AMD GPU.
This clears leftover OEM driver components that cause Adrenalin to fail.

Use the AMD Auto-Detect tool
After rebooting, run AMD Auto-Detect instead of the full Adrenalin package.
It uses a different path mapping and sometimes bypasses OEM restrictions.

Try installing the standalone driver package
On AMD’s site, download “Driver only” (not Adrenalin).
Extract it manually, then install using Device Manager → Update driver → Browse → point to the extracted folder.

Check if HP’s BIOS enforces “OEM Signature Lock”
Some newer HP BIOS builds restrict installation of non-OEM GPU firmware components.
If third-party installs fail but HP’s driver works, this is a strong sign.

Update the chipset driver first
Install the AMD Ryzen 7xxx/8xxx chipset drivers before the GPU driver.
Missing chipset components can cause the “path not found” Adrenalin error.

Disable Windows automatic driver updates
Go to System Properties → Hardware → Device Installation Settings → “No.”
This prevents Windows from auto-installing an older HP GPU driver mid-installation.

I hope this helps.
