Chassis gets very hot, chassis wraped from the heat. Shuts Down, Blue Screen at times....  I would like to fix this unit. has an i7 core processor.  When it works it can be flawless, but the over heating issue has become a major concern.

Here’s a step-by-step approach to help restore your HP Spectre x360 13t-aw200:

1. Inspect for Physical Damage

If the chassis is visibly warped, it’s possible that internal components—especially the cooling system—have shifted or degraded. A professional inspection is strongly recommended to assess:

  • Heat pipe alignment
  • Fan integrity
  • Thermal paste condition

 

2. Clean the Cooling System

Dust buildup can choke airflow and cause thermal spikes. If you're comfortable opening the unit:

  • Use compressed air to clean vents and fans.
  • Check for obstructions near the heat sink and exhaust ports.

 

3. Update BIOS and Thermal Drivers

HP often includes thermal management improvements in BIOS updates. You can download the latest BIOS and chipset drivers here:

Install:

  • Latest BIOS
  • Intel Chipset Driver
  • HP System Event Utility

 

4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

7. Monitor with HP Performance Advisor or HWMonitor
