Hi,
For the last couple of months, my chromebook screen is constantly acting as if it is being randomly touched. Web pages move up and down and links are clicked without any input from the user. It is now almost unusable, particularly given that so many apps are run through the browser.
I have hard reset and powerwashed the device several times but this does not seem to help.
Is this a common fault? Is there a way to fix the hardware or can i get a repair through HP?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
If your touchscreen isn't working, try these steps. Test after each step to see whether your touchscreen works.
- Wipe off any dust or dirt on your touchscreen.
- Reset your Chromebook hardware.
- Reset your Chromebook to factory settings.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,
This hasnt helped, I have already done this actions. I have included a picture below of the location of the phantom touches, I opened a paint app and let the screen "draw" by itself. The touches are all in a vertical column about 1/4 across from the left. (The touches are dots but I used a bigger brush to see better).
phantom touches using Autodesk
Could it be a faulty connector or is a new digitiser needed?
Thanks.
