HP Chromebook x360 - 14-da0000na (5GS70EA)
Chrome OS

Hi,

The touch screen on my x360 14 Chromebook has developed a few hairline cracks which have rendered the touchscreen unusable. I have managed to switch the digitiser off using chrome flags to prevent random input. The rest of the display is working without issue and the cracks are invisible when the device is in  use. There are no signs on the case of any impact or bumps. Looking at the maintenance manual it appears the HP recommend use of part L36904-001 which seems to be to whole top half of the device eg hinges, case, display and digitiser.

1) Are fine cracks in the touch screen covered under warranty?

2) If the whole top half needs to be replaced and this cannot be done under warranty where can part L36904-001 be sourced from? HP part surfer does not indicate and shows N/A

3) Is is possible to buy just the touch screen digitiser and fit it myself. If so what is the part that should be sourced?

Thanks in advance,

Clive
