I have an HP Spectre x360 - 15-ap007na (ENERGY STAR) laptop. The laptop's screen resolution is 3840 x 2160 (16:9 ratio). I am considering the purchase of a 5K display with a screen resolution of 5120 x 2880 (also 16:9). Does anyone know if the laptop is able to drive this larger screen resolution? Would the screen image fill the display, or would it just use 3840 x 2160 of the larger screen, leaving the rest of it blank?

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05201379
It has
- 1 HDMI;
- 1 headphone/microphone combo;
- 3 USB 3.0 (HP USB Boost);
- 1 USB 3.0 (Type-C™, HP USB Boost);
- 1 Mini DisplayPort
2 video out ports support
- mDP 1.2 supporting up to 3200×2000 @ 60 Hz
- HDMI v.2.0 output support up to 4096×2160 at 60 Hz
Therefore a 5120 x 2880 monitor won't work
Regards.
