Hi,

I'm trying to connect 2 Lenovo monitors to my new HP Envy x360 Ryzen 7 with AMD Radeon Graphics (Model 15-ey0001na). via a Wavlink 5K dock using HDMI on both monitors.

The monitors ARE detected if I plug them in directly 1 at a time.

However, they AREN'T detected if I plug the USB cable from the Wavlink hub.

I've tried all combinations of plug from the Wavlink dock; i.e. USB-C into both USB-C's on the Envy and also both USB-A's on the Envy and none recognise the monitors.

The drivers are the current ones; i.e. Best drivers are installed message when trying to update them.

I can't see any options in the AMD Radeon config software that refers to multiple monitors, other than the option that take me to the Windows Display settings.

The Wavlink dock works fine with my HP Envy i7 (Model 17-ch0xxx)), although that uses Intel iRIS graphics, so I'm wondering if AMD Radeon can't handle multiple monitors.

How do I get this notebook to recognise multiple monitors - any ideas?

Thanks...

Ok, thought I'd post my findings - this might just help someone with a similar set of circumstances.

First of all, it was a complete waste of time raising a technical support ticket; they just suggested going to my local store and buying a different docking station!

Now for the proper fix...

Don't believe Windows when it tells you the best drivers are installed. Also, don't always believe the statements saying you must have a thunderbolt USB c port to connect dual monitors.

My fix was relatively simple in the end; to visit the Wavlink website to see if there were any drivers and there were. I downloaded the displaylink drivers, I installed them and voila both my Lenovo 2k monitors sprung into life! ... and with their full resolution to boot!

I even plugged the Wavlink dock into a cheap and cheerful KVM switch and everything works!

Moral of the story; don't be swayed by what Windows or what other people tell you - do what you think is right based on experience and check out other possibilities  😁

It's possible that the issue you're experiencing with connecting multiple monitors to your HP Envy x360 laptop via the Wavlink dock could be related to the dock's compatibility with the AMD Radeon Graphics card in your laptop. I have also had the problem for my monitors to examine that blog: [content removed]

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try:

  1. Check the specifications of the Wavlink dock to ensure that it is compatible with the AMD Radeon Graphics card in your laptop. You may also want to check if there are any known compatibility issues between the dock and your laptop.

  2. Make sure that the Wavlink dock is properly connected to your laptop. Try connecting the dock to different USB ports on your laptop to see if it makes a difference.

  3. Check the display settings on your laptop. Go to the "Display settings" in Windows and make sure that both external monitors are recognized and set up properly. You may need to adjust the resolution and orientation of the displays.

  4. Update the graphics driver for your AMD Radeon Graphics card. You can download the latest driver from the AMD website.

  5. Try connecting the monitors directly to your laptop without using the Wavlink dock to see if they are detected.

  6. Contact the manufacturer of the Wavlink dock for further assistance or consider trying a different dock that is known to be compatible with your laptop's AMD Radeon Graphics card.
