Good Day All,
I have an older model HP Notebook (Product # 1BQ14UA#ABA) that I want to hook up to a HP Envy 27" IPS Backlit Monitor.
At to moment, I an connecting using the HDMI ports on both the laptop & the monitor.
The HP Envy monitor has an usb-c port as well.
What type of cable/adapter do I need to use to connect the HP Notebook HDMI port to the HP Envoy's usb-c port?
Am trying to get the best resolution possible.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/hk-en/document/c05392764
It only has
1 HDMI; 1 headphone/microphone combo; 2 USB 2.0; 1 USB 3.1; 1 RJ-45 |
therefore you have to use HDMI port to connect to an external monitor. There is NO such cable/adapter to convert HDMI to USB-C. You can connect USB-C port to HDMI monitor on many (not all) newer machines but still not another way around.
Regards.
