Hi! I have a HP 15-fd0xxx laptop with Windows 11, and I want to use the USB Type-C connector on the laptop to connect an external monitor (since the HDMI port is already occupied with another monitor). I have tried connecting the monitor with HDMI and through a Hub adapter with USB Type-C that I bought: “6 in 1 Adapter 4K Support”. I have connected the monitor with the adapter and it does not go....me says: “The display connection may be limited. Make sure the DisplayPort device you are connecting to is compatible with your computer. Select this message for more troubleshooting information. “I'm guessing it must be compatibility issues. If there is no solution, is it possible to connect the monitor with an HDMI-USB cable? I find it to be an excellent laptop, however, it has very few ports and so I had to buy a 4 port USB Hub some time ago to be able to connect pen drives and a fan. In case there is no solution to my problem, is it possible to connect it? Wouldn't it overload the PC? I don't want anything bad to happen to my PC which is relatively new, but I need to work with two monitors as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

Hola! Muchas gracias.

Your machine ONLY has 1 hopeless USB 3.2 Type-C® Gen1, supports data transfer port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
Other option (USB-A dock) : https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05357751
