Tried to connect multiple monitors and power through a docking station. None of the above is working.

what is your HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 (2W0J5AV)  machine ?  It could be one of the following over 180 machines:

  For example :  HP Laptop 17-cn0068cl

 

It ONLY has 1 hopeless USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (supports data transfer only and does not support charging or external monitors port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter
