I am trying to connect two monitors to my HP laptop using a USB-C to HDMI connector. I have one monitor connected directly in the laptop using a HDMI cable and the other monitor using the USB-C connector. The monitor connected directly to the laptop shows up as the second display. The other monitor does not show up as display 3 and the monitor itself says "Input signal not found". Does my laptop not support more than one monitor or is there a setting or other connection I am missing to get both monitors to work? Please help!

The specs of your machine is
https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-laptop-15t-dw300-touch-optional-1b9n3av-1#techSpecs
It ONLY has 1 hopeless SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

Thank you for your assistance. That solution worked! We purchased a USB-A to HDMI adapter as suggested and connected the first monitor directly in the laptop and that worked and now both monitors along with the laptop monitor are connected and working. This was very helpful in finding the right solution.
