HP Recommended

So I have inherited a HP monitor which has VGA signal cable, DVI-D signal cable, or DisplayPort outs - but I only have USB B/C  in's to my laptop,/hub, what do I need to connect - I've tried DisplayPort to USB and that doesn't recognise the monitor.
